All those music classes really paid off.

The Best (And Not So Best) of Zadia Love

While trying to entertain myself in the backseat on yet another road trip, I learned how to blow bubbles and spit.

Warning: you might want to grab an umbrella before you watch this!

And just to prove that I'm not always easy, playful, and smiley, take a look at these videos. This is my reaction to Mommy taking me off the park swings before I was good and ready.

Note: This temper tantrum lasted at least five minutes straight!

Soggy Bottom Babies

Last week's playdate was on Isla's brand new roofdeck, with inflatable pool, soggy diapers, and all. Nothing like a bunch of adorable, naked babies with soggy bottoms to make you smile.

Oliver and Charlotte--the fairest of them all.

There I am in the back. Staying busy, as usual.

Wait, this isn't a riding toy? Are you sure?

Ollie wins the prize for soggiest bottom.

I'm usually a really good sharer, but for some unknown reason I was feeling very territorial that day.

Move over, Ollie! You're invading my space.

Mmmm, these puffs are good. And they're all mine.

With Mommy's help I remembered that sharing is caring.

One for Isla. (But only one.)

One for Alec, since he waited so patiently.

And one for Oliver, even if he doesn't want it.

Flower Girl

Camping 101: Part II

After sleeping 11 hours the second night, I was fully rested and in a great mood on Sunday morning. I played in a field while the grown ups packed up.

I loved camping. It was nice to stop and smell the pretty flowers. But I was also happy to return home to the city that I love.

Double Trouble

Everyone knows by now that I'm going to be a big sister. But now we know that I'll be a big sister to a little sister. That's right! Mommy and Daddy are having another girl! I can't wait to hold her, play with her, share my toys and clothes with her, and teach her all of my tricks. Uh oh, watch out Mommy and Daddy. Double trouble!

I'm not so sure I like this little sister idea.

Ok, I'm warming up to the idea.

A full-time, permanent playmate for me? Yay!!!

Here she is. And I love her already.

Perfectly Seasoned

Nona made a special visit to Brooklyn to spend a few days with me. We made this cooking video while Mommy was busy getting pampered at a spa. I think I might be good enough to be the next Top Chef.

Camping 101

Mommy and Daddy took me on my first camping trip this weekend. We met Aunt Jenny at Harriman State Park at 10pm Friday night, and even though it was several hours past my bedtime, I was wide awake and curious. After finally going to bed with Mommy and Daddy at midnight and waking for the day at 5am (cranky and under-slept, of course) Mommy wondered whether camping with a 1-year-old was such a bright idea, after all.

But, I had a hearty breakfast and a mid-morning nap, and I woke up energetic, playful, and ready to explore.

From then on, we were in a smooth groove for the remainder of the trip.
Tubs of water kept me occupied for hours.

I tested out all of the chairs and found one that was just right for my little body.

I played with Daddy's hat.

Spent time on the beach with some of my favorite people.

And enjoyed some of my favorite foods.

The playground had lots for me to explore.

And when I was tired, I had a familiar friend to comfort me.

After a full day of activity and a huge dinner, I was easily lulled to sleep in my stroller at 8pm. I slept under the stars for a little while, which gave the adults time to enjoy fireside chats and S'mores.

To be continued...

Daddy's Girl

Daddy, I can't believe this is your second Father's Day.
It seems like just yesterday that we celebrated your first.

Remember back then, how easily I would fall asleep on you?

You're such a good cuddler, Daddy.

I know you miss the good old days, but now we share other things.

Like bottles of beer.

Kisses.

And our adorable good looks.

Thanks for always having enough energy to play with me, even after a long day of work.

For learning a new instrument just so my birthday party could include a sing-a-long.

And for cherishing and capturing the simple, precious moments that we share.

By the looks of your desk at work, you can't get enough of me.

And that's a real good thing, because I can't get enough of you either, Daddy.

Remember, I might be getting bigger, but I'll always be your little girl.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy.
I love you more than blueberries and cheese.
