How To Get To Sesame Street

I had been looking forward to visiting Sesame Place for months. The day finally arrived last Saturday. Our friends Alec, Evan, Ollie, and baby Vivienne went on the same day, making it three times the amount of fun!

We got there right as the park opened, and pushed through with no naps, until we finally left the park at 6:30. With six kids of various ages, all with different interests, and waiting in long lines while warm and under slept, there was lots of potential for meltdowns. But to everyone's surprise, the day went off without a hitch and the day left me asking, "Mommy, can we live at Sesame Street?"

We all hit up the tidal pool and water rides first.

But after Aiyana said "I wanna ride the horsie" about sixty four times, we parted ways with our friends and found some kiddie rides.

I wanted to find Oscar so I could give him the painting I made, but I settled for hugs with Abby and Elmo. I even brought my Sesame Street characters from home and set them up in the picture with us.

We took a break for a picnic lunch, and then all the parents pushed us around in our strollers hoping we'd take naps. Only one of us did. We were just too excited. Instead, we got ice cream and a balloon and waited patiently for the Sesame parade to begin.

One of us wanted to be right in the parade.

The parade was our favorite. We were literally dancing in the streets.
Future amusement park workers perhaps?

As if we weren't already blurry-eyed and exhausted, we then saw "Elmo Rocks," with more dancing and singing for the whole family.

Once we got our second (or third) wind, it was time for a snack (an Elmo-shaped pretzel) and a few more rides.

I don't know what was more fun--being at Sesame Place, or going on an all-day adventure with my closest Brooklyn friends. All I know, is now that someone told me how to get to Sesame Street, I just want to go back--over, and over, and over again.

Love and furry friends.

I Like Being a Kid

While watching Mommy microwave some leftovers.

Zadia: "It's really hard being a grown up."
Mommy: "Really, why? "
Zadia: "You have to push a lot of buttons and sometimes you might get confu-sed."
Mommy: "Oh yeah?"
Zadia: "Yeah. And when you walk places you might go the wrong way and get lost. That's hard."

Mommy said I'm right. Being a grown up is hard. But probably not for the reasons I thought.

Love and profound realizations,

Fun In VA: Days 3 and 4

It's been a few days since we returned from our girls trip to VA, but that's about how long it's taken us to catch back up on things at home (including the blog.)

We were quite busy during our four days in Virginia--swimming, dancing, tricycles, and scooters filled up our first two days. Days three and four were spent jumping, shopping, eating, swinging, and climbing. And is the case when we travel, we didn't sleep all that well. It's no wonder we were so exhausted when we got home!

Poppy treated us all to a morning at Jumpin' Jimmy's.

And Nona treated all four of us to a little shopping spree at Target. I went dressed in my "tea party gown" so I would already be dressed for the tea party that was to follow the shopping spree.

We were quite a sight in the store, riding on shopping carts and test driving our favorite toys.

And while the toys were Nona's treat, I really wanted to be big girl and pay for my own.

After spending that afternoon at Uncle Cory and Aunt Kacey's, it was off for yet another treat--ICE CREAM!!!

(Note: We were supposed to go the night before, but when I couldn't sit where I wanted during dinner, I broke into one of my epic 45 minute tantrums, ruining any chance we had of getting dessert that night.)

We had to catch the train back to NYC on Friday, but not before a morning trip to the playground with Poppy.

By this time we were pretty tired, so we were a little restless (and a lot loud) on the train back to New York. Mommy did her best to entertain us with videos, snacks, and at least four trips to the potty.

We were quite excited to see Daddy waiting at the train station for us. Mommy captured a sweet moment on the subway where Aiyana help Daddy's hand to her face and said,"I missed you." Adorable.

As always, we had so much fun with Nona, Poppy, and our cousins. But after climbing in and out of car seats all week, we were happy to get home to our preferred mode of transportation--strollers and the subway.

Love and fun with family,

Get This Girl Some Tap Shoes

Mommy bought me and Aiyana a 6-pack of dress up shoes (which I call tap shoes.) We had plenty to share, so I brought a pair to VA for Ysbabella (Aunt Kacey and Uncle Cory, you can thank Mommy for the noisy, floor-scuffing toy later!)

Ysabella and I performed our first duet together. I was so excited, I literally danced right out of my shoes. And Aiyana was the disgruntled director.

On Our Way to VA: Days 1 and 2

Zadia, Mommy, and I left Brooklyn on Tuesday for our annual "girls trip" (as Zadia now calls it) to Virginia. We were pretty excited to pack our bags and board the train.

Waiting for Nona and Poppy to pick us up at the train station was pretty fun too.

But nothing was as exciting as seeing Nona come around the corner.

And then it was nothing but good times with Nona, Poppy, Ysabella and Anthony.

Dorons love swings.

Tomato picking.

Win, lose, or draw.

Diva.

Quadruple trouble.

A quiet moment with Poppy.

D-D-D-D-D-Dora.
Love and more fun pics to come,
Aiyana Eden
