Speaking of Sweet Things

Speaking of cookies...how sweet is this little girl?

Those fingers must be pretty tasty too.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any cuter...

Cookies and Milk

Mommy had a craving for something sweet, so we made oatmeal raisin cookies on a cold, rainy, Friday afternoon. My culinary skills must be improving because Mommy is giving me more and more responsibility in the kitchen.

Mommy very strategically gave me the tedious job of emptying all the little boxes of raisins into a measuring cup.

Then I measured out the dry ingredients.

Added the dry to the wet, making sure to "tap, tap, tap" the bowl to get the last bit of flour out.

And when Mommy wasn't looking, I...

And then Oliver, Alexandra, and I did lots of taste testing!

Close-Ups

Aiyana and Aunt Kelley snuggled up for some close-ups.

And then Mommy squeezed in for one too.

Balancing Act

My little sister Aiyana is getting better and better at holding herself up with a little help from her friends Mommy and Daddy.

Me, on the other hand, I'm teetering off on my own!

3.5 Months

Is it just me, or does Aiyana keep getting cuter?

And are her eyes getting bigger?

I thought so :)

My Smelly Valentine

Daddy brought home three roses, one for each of his girls. I chose the pink one for myself--it was the prettiest one and the tallest one.

And apparently the smelliest one, too.

Aiyana and I both got some new literature from our admirers.

But Valentine's Day is truly about being with the ones we love. And , of course, about having another excuse to wear pink!

Mommy Going Bye Bye

Mommy will be away from Aiyana tonight for the first time ever. Shell miss us both terribly, but it's for a good reason (her best friend's baby shower.) Yay, more babies!

Have fun Mommy, but don't worry--Daddy will take great care of us.

Baby Kylie

Aiyana has a new friend, Kylie. Her older sister Zoe and I are friends, and now our baby sisters are friends too! Kylie's a little chubby and Aiyana's a little petite, so even though Kylie is half Aiyana's age, they're very much the same size.

New Developments

Three months has brought a lot of new milestones for baby Aiyana. For starters, she fell sleep on her belly while playing, which is quite different from her usual swaddled-and-purposefully-placed-on-her-back position.

Mommy was amazed that Aiyana fell asleep on her belly, but even more surprised that she managed to do so with chaos all around her (including Britney Spears songs playing in the background.)

And though Mommy knows Aiyana sucks on her fingers all the time, she's never put herself to sleep that way.

Maybe these are all the secrets to getting her past those 25 minute naps???

Unfortunately not.  As usual, Aiyana woke up less than 25 minutes later. But now she was on her back, which means she rolled over! So that was a first for her too!

Aiyana, can you roll over again?

Great, Great, Great

We took a trip Upstate this weekend to introduce Aiyana to her three maternal great grandparents. She got passed from one person to the next, and naturally, she didn't mind at all.

The weekend was one big play date for me. I made "tea" for Papa and Great Grandpa.

I rode into the sunset with 3-year-old Gavin (my mommy and his mommy went to high school together.)

And I further realized my affection for 3-year-old boys when I met my cousin, Cade. We were instant friends. It was pretty adorable, actually.

Even Aiyana found a playmate in our 6-month-old cousin, Freddie. (Yes, he's only 6 months old!!!)

And while Aiyana got spoiled by being held all weekend, I got spoiled with treats--like french fries, ice cream, and cupcakes!

Sleep Training

Mommy and Daddy have been trying to sleep train Aiyana, so they spent the past few nights sleeping on an air mattress in the living room so they wouldn't interfere with her efforts to put herself back to sleep on her own. In other words, they've been letting her "cry it out." She's done pretty well, but even on the rougher nights, she still wakes up smiling and cooing.
