The Best Comes To Those Who Leave

Mommy left us for 29 hours. Well, she didn't really leave us.  She just took a much needed night off, and went to Albany to meet her BFF's one-month-old baby, and get her newborn baby fix. So Daddy was on duty for a little over a day.

That's no small feat, considering I'm known to be a handful, Aiyana refuses to take a bottle from anyone, and she's going through a severe separation-from-Mommy-anxiety phase. Daddy definitely had his work cut out for him.

Aiyana cried for the first several hours, refused to eat anything, and wouldn't nap. But by early evening, we were all in a groove, and Daddy was proud to have gotten us both fed, bathed, and in bed by 7:30pm.

Daddy's not too anxious for Mommy to leave again any time soon, but Mommy does deserve a day off every once in a while, and well, sometimes a little space is all we need to make some BIG changes in the Doron household!

Mommy can turn her back on Aiyana now, and she don't necessarily cry. Not every time, anyway.

She's finally taking a bottle (instead of just the boob) which makes Mommy leaving, even for a few hours, a lot less stressful for everyone involved.

Not only is she taking a bottle now, but she also tolerated a little bit of formula and can hold the bottle herself. This means Mommy can be "hands free" every once in a while!

And sleeping? Aiyana's sleeping better than ever. After six long months of sleepless nights, Aiyana is finally sleeping ten hours straight at night! It might be her new found attachment to her plushy blankie and furry lamb.

Or maybe she's a more restful sleeper now that she's a whole half year old!

Either way, Aiyana and I are both (finally) sleeping really well at night. Aiyana has been moved out of Mommy and Daddy's room and into her crib in my room, which is a HUGE DEAL! It's only been two nights so far, but to everyone's surprise, Aiyana and I have really adapted well to being room mates.

...and SISTERS.
