Nona spent six days with us last week, during which Mommy and Daddy both left us for a night. It was the first time since Aiyana was born that Mommy and Daddy truly had a night to themselves!
We all knew I'd be fine (and I was), but we weren't quite sure how Aiyana would react, particularly because she still cries when Mommy leaves the room.
Turns out Aiyana and I were both perfectly fine. We were happy, we slept well, and we ate even better.
Nona has experience managing six or seven kids on her own, so two is hardly a challenge. But, it was still nice to have extra hands around to help out. Besides, we love spending time with Uncle Jude and Aunt Kelley.
We went to the playground, the bookstore, and out for burgers (see above.) It was business as usual!

Sure, Mommy is still Aiyana's favorite person, and she was comforted by her return.
But with Mommy more than a few feet away (for a change), Aiyana had plenty of time to bond with Nona.
Nona, thanks for taking such good care of us while Mommy and Daddy were away. Let's do this again very soon! xo
