Camp Recchio

Pardon the delay in getting fresh content on the blog. We took the train upstate last week to visit Mommy's big Italian family. With three great grandparents, Nona and Poppy, seven pairs of aunts and uncles, and dozens of cousins, there was plenty of opportunity for picture-taking, but little time for blog posting.

Daddy saw us off to the train station at 5:45 on Thursday morning (He had to "make money" at work Thursday and Friday, so he didn't meet us upstate until late Friday night.)

5:45am is pretty early, even for me and Aiyana, so we made up for lost sleep by napping on Amtrak.

When Mommy and Daddy are upstate, they usually do a Walmart run. Aiyana and I were happy to maintain that tradition, because two things Brooklyn doesn't have are wide aisles and super-sized shopping carts.

We're a tight family, so there were fifteen of us staying at my great-grandparents house. No space, no problem! Nona, Poppy, Aunt Kelley, Uncle Ahmadu, and Uncle Jude set up camp in the backyard.

That was okay though. We didn't make the trip so we could sleep, Silly Goose. We went to spend time with several generations of Mommy's family.

Besides, staying in close quarters gave me and Ysabella lots of time to work on our relationship.
