What??? Aiyana only gained 6oz. in a month? Yup, she's still super tiny (10lbs.6oz.) and still an adorable little peanut.

Flowers For Aiyana
Three months old today, hooray! This calls for a floral headband!
Aiyana's nighttime sleeping just started to drastically improve, and just in time for her three month birthday. Rather than waking up every hour, she only wakes up once a night--this really gives Mommy something (else) to smile about :)

Boogie Down Bronx
We spent Saturday up in the Bronx with Aunt Kelley and Uncle Du. We explored the new playground near Yankee Stadium, then headed back to their apartment for a tea and popcorn party.
Look Mommy, no feet! |
Everything is more fun with Aunt Kelley. |
Mommy always enjoys a good romp at the corner playground. |
But Uncle Ahmadu might have had more fun than all of us. |
The above-ground trains were fascinating to me. |
The rumble of the train might have been a little much for Aiyana. |
How lucky am I? Popcorn in three delicious flavors! |

A Snow Falls in Brooklyn
This past weekend brought a light snowfall to Brooklyn rooftops. It was my first real experience with snow, and it was Aiyana's first snowfall ever.
Daddy took me up on our roof for some sledding.
And snowball making.
Aiyana watched her first snow fall from our 10th floor windows.
Afterward I went with Mommy to buy some butter so we could bake cookies. I absolutely loved walking in the snow with my new pink boots.
Then it was off to Alec's house where we kicked around some snow on his patio.
The icicles were exceptionally delicious.
Aiyana didn't seem to mind being out in the cold snow with us.
But I'm sure she was happy to be back in the comfort of her bed.

How Many Weeks?
Mommy lost track of how many weeks Aiyana is, but after checking the calendar, she was reminded that Aiyana is eleven weeks old. Wow, already?
Aiyana continues to get chubbier and more upright.
She's especially upright with the help of the Bumbo.
Which I appear to be sharing in the photo above, but in actuality, I have a tantrum every time Mommy puts Aiyana in it. I seem to think "It's Zadia's" (which is the case with most things these days.)
So while I have little fits over lots of little things (I'm almost two years old, after all!), Aiyana just sits back and patiently watches.

Albany Bound
Mommy and Aiyana took a train to Albany this past weekend so Aunt Jenny could finally meet my baby sister.
Aiyana is queen of the 25 minute nap, but the train brought out the good sleeper in her and she napped most of the way there. She must have been well rested because when she woke up she was all smiles!
Aiyana and Aunt Jenny took to each other right away.
Aiyana had a nice big bed to herself, but alas, her naps were still only 25 minutes.
She tried to make friends with the cats, but after this quick snapshot, they ran away.
But Aunt Jenny couldn't keep her hands off Aiyana.
24 hours later, Aiyana was bundled up and on her way back to Brooklyn.

The Other Side of the Camera
Mommy is usually the blog photographer, but lately she's had her hands full with one baby or the other. So here's a few quick pics of Mommy on the other side of the camera.

First Responder
I'm a pretty good big sister, if I do say so myself. Aiyana cries, and I respond. Usually with a smile, a bounce, and a sing-songy "It's okay, it's okay. No crying."
Sure, I come on strong and get in Aiyana's face a little bit, but she doesn't seem to mind.
In fact, she likes it.
And so do I.
