8.5 Months: Blondie

8.5 months old and blonder than ever. Appropriately, Aiyana has her favorite brush in her hand for these shots.

Pebbles and Zadia

The Grass Is Always Greener

We love spending time on our balconies.

Especially the one with the white picket fence and our new patch of (fake) green grass!

LICH Playground

One of the many great things about Brooklyn is that we can go to a different playground each day of the month. We've been to this one once or twice before, but Aiyana was too young to fully enjoy it then, and I didn't exactly remember it.

I gotta get me one of these walker things.

Park bench baby.

Mommy, how many times do I need to tell you? NO hats!

Mommy loves the expression on my face in this picture.

Off-the-shoulder chic.

A big-girl swing that's just my size.

Camp Recchio

Pardon the delay in getting fresh content on the blog. We took the train upstate last week to visit Mommy's big Italian family. With three great grandparents, Nona and Poppy, seven pairs of aunts and uncles, and dozens of cousins, there was plenty of opportunity for picture-taking, but little time for blog posting.

Daddy saw us off to the train station at 5:45 on Thursday morning (He had to "make money" at work Thursday and Friday, so he didn't meet us upstate until late Friday night.)

5:45am is pretty early, even for me and Aiyana, so we made up for lost sleep by napping on Amtrak.

When Mommy and Daddy are upstate, they usually do a Walmart run. Aiyana and I were happy to maintain that tradition, because two things Brooklyn doesn't have are wide aisles and super-sized shopping carts.

We're a tight family, so there were fifteen of us staying at my great-grandparents house. No space, no problem! Nona, Poppy, Aunt Kelley, Uncle Ahmadu, and Uncle Jude set up camp in the backyard.

That was okay though. We didn't make the trip so we could sleep, Silly Goose. We went to spend time with several generations of Mommy's family.

Besides, staying in close quarters gave me and Ysabella lots of time to work on our relationship.

Leg of Lamb

This is how Aiyana falls asleep every time she goes down in her crib. Choking hazard? Probably. Crusty fur? Definitely.

8 Months: Becoming Aiyana Eden

Zadia Love is always evolving. And at eight months old, Aiyana Eden is becoming her own little person with her own BIG personality.

(Btw, Mommy knows the title of this blog needs an update. Suggestions are welcome!)

Blueberry Face

After a slight regression with the potty, I'm now back to having some very successful days. I can pick a prize when I have a dry diaper from morning til night. On this particular day my prize was a blue lollipop.
