Foodie

Mommy introduced Aiyana to finger foods a few weeks ago. She was a little skeptical at first. But eventually she realized that, unlike most other things, food actually belongs in her mouth.

Yummy!

All Smiles

Strangers are likely to find Aiyana smiling at them. It usually looks a little something like this:

Memorial Monday

We spent Memorial Monday BBQing in the Bronx with Aunt Kelley and Uncle Ahmadu. Aiyana was pretty happy about that.

Not sure she was as thrilled when my spray bottle war with Aunt Kelley turned into an attack on her.

Luckily, all it took was one look at Mommy and she was all smiles again.

The spray bottles weren't enough to cool me off, so I went for the jug of ice water.

I looked a little disheveled after that.

And I was definitely ready for some grub. (Have I mentioned how much I like hamburgers?)

Aiyana, what are you eating under there?

Of course, all that eating made the babies sleepy.

So we made a Doron pile and had a little rest.

After a long, hot, and fun day in the Bronx, I tagged my name and headed back to Brooklyn.

7 Months: Little One

My little baby sister ("Little One," as I've been cleverly calling her), is seven months old today. Where has the time gone?

And believe it or not, this is the first time in seven months that Mommy has dressed us similarly. We just so happen to have coordinating purple shirts and skinny jeans, so Mommy had a little fun playing dress up with us.

Summertime

Summer is (almost) here! As soon as we had a streak of nice weather, Mommy started packing our days with outdoor activities.

Objects in chair may be smaller than they appear.
Tandem swinging. So efficient.
It's very, very rare that I keep my hat on.
Park bench lunches and pigtails.
"Mommy, I'm ready to go outside now!"

I insisted on carrying my new umbrella.
Sisters, sidewalk chalk, and a snack.
A little piece of shade.
The water table is fun for the whole family!
Yes, I'm watering my flowers with a Neti pot.
Homemade bubble fun.

B is For Bathtime

I usually don't like to bathe with Aiyana because she's known to be an enthusiastic kicker and a huge splasher. But now that she can sit up in the tub, and therefore doesn't splash me in the face as much, we're back to enjoying our nightly baths together.

Strawberries for Zadia

Mommy and I planted strawberries on our balcony. I watched them flower and grow, and even though I've been ready to pick them for weeks, Mommy said I had to wait until they got a little bigger and a little redder. Finally, one was ready to be harvested.

Tots in Tulle

My friend, Hana, from our old apartment building came over for some girlie fun.

Even Aiyana got into playing dress-up with us.
