I had a great first day back at school today.

2 Frans + 40 Years = True Love

Nona and Poppy celebrated their 40th anniversary a few weeks ago. They came to Brooklyn to toast with the whole Nicastro clan. We started the weekend celebration on the roof with some bubbles for the kids (and some bubbly for the grownups.)

 

What's an urban rooftop party without hula hoops and a good game of cornhole?

Beware of the tickle monster. And don't laugh or she tickles you even more.

All Nona and Poppy really wanted was to spend time as a family.

But that would have been too easy. So we surprised them with a Broadway show, a romantic dinner, and a night in a hotel (without the kids and grand kids, for a change.)

While the 2Frans were off enjoying their romantic getaway, the cousins were literally on top of each other in our little apartment. Luckily, we didn't mind much.

Somehow Mommy got all four us to sit at the same time to do some painting.

But thank goodness for those NYC playgrounds so we could get some exercise.

 Thanks to Aiyana, Uncle Jude and Uncle Cory also got some good workouts in.

By now it was Sunday, and time to wrap up our exciting family weekend. But not without an ice cream sandwich to celebrate Aunt Kacey's birthday, a final family brunch with Nona and Poppy, and some big hugs between cousins.

Best Sisters

Zadia and I love each other so much. And we get along great. Unless Zadia is singing and I'm yelling "Stop!," or I have the cup Zadia wants and she grabs it from me, or Zadia's watching Sesame Street and I just walk by and tug her hair, or I want to hug Zadia and she pushes me away because she needs some space, or we both have to go potty and we're fighting over who goes first.

All sisters fight, but it's the happy moments that we'll always remember.

Daddy's Little Helpers

TO DO: 1.) "Help" Daddy at work. 2.) See the office kitchen. 3.) Have Daddy meet us at a playground. 4.) Bring Daddy flowers at work. 

It's a good thing Mommy likes lists as much as I do. We  had a fun day checking things off.

"Help" Daddy make photocopies. Check.

Aiyana's turn. Check.

Photocopy animals. Check. 

See office kitchen. Check.

Add photocopies of animals to Daddy's wall of art. Check.

Have lunch at the playground with Daddy. Check.

Play. Check.

Look adorable for photo. Check.

Eat more. Check.

 Buy flowers on the way home and hand deliver them to Daddy's office. Check.

Fall asleep in the stroller on the train home, while eating another snack. Check.
