Last weekend was our third and final weekend away in a row (at least until November.) We did a night drive down to Virginia. With my car sickness having subsided since I tuned three, Mommy and Daddy really thought they were in the clear. But Aiyana got car sick for the first time ever, setting us back about an hour and a half. We rolled into Uncle Cory's driveway at 1:30am, with two little girls that had no interest in sleeping.
When Mommy and Daddy finally convinced us it was still night time, we ended up being four people to a room with three of us in a twin bed (Daddy, Aiyana, and me), one of us on the floor (Mommy), and two of us still in our clothes (Mommy and Daddy.) We woke up at 6:30am, as usual, all feeling pretty tired. But we don't see our cousins often enough, so lack of sleep was no excuse for us. We were up and ready to play!
Daddy, on the other hand, was pretty wiped out. Aiyana thought he needed company, so she gave him a few babies and made sure to cover them all up.
It was pretty rainy all weekend, so we did hike up our rain boots and made a trip to BJ's to surprise Poppy while at work.
We made a quick run to Old Navy to take advantage of the Columbus Day sale. Although Anthony and I were much more interested in playing hide-and-seen than we were in bargain hunting.
And even though the playgrounds in Virginia are smaller than in Brooklyn, I found new ways to challenge myself.
Hmmm...is this why they call people tree huggers?
And did you know trees make good back scratchers?
No trip to Virginia would be complete without the cousins gathering around Nona's table for some "homework," and all of the cousins crowding into the bathtub.
.
There. Now our trip is complete :)
