I had three things on my list for when Nona and Poppy came:
1. Go to the beach.
2. Go to Coney Island
3. Go on a boat.
We went to the beach on the first full day Nona and Poppy were here. We drove an hour and a half to a beautiful beach, only to realize that getting eaten by horse flies is not very fun at all.
We were only there long enough to get a photo and eat half of a PB&J, then I wrapped myself in Poppy's shirt to protect myself from the flies, grabbed a frozen lemonade, and begged to go home.
And we went to Coney Island on Nona and Poppy's last full day, which was a bit more successful. The subway ride itself was exciting.
And the beach and boardwalk were nice ways to kill time while we waited for the park to open.
I went on some big girl rides with Uncle Jude or by myself, while Aiyana went on the "horsie."
But I told Mommy the rides weren't much fun because my baby sister wasn't on them with me. So we rode the rest of the rides together.
Mommy and Uncle Jude were going to ride the Cyclone, but Aiyana had a meltdown right about then so we pushed her around until she cried herself to sleep.
I cooperated (for part of the day, anyway) so I was rewarded with a treat--my very first taste of cotton candy! It was delicious and oh so fuzzy!
Nona and Poppy, it was so much "pun" having you here. I'm so glad we got to cross some things off my TO DO list. But you need to come back because we still need to go on a boat together!
