Annual Frankfort Trip

Each summer the whole family reunites in Frankfort to visit Mommy's grandparents. This year, we had to fix our flat tire before we could get on the road. We weren't nearly as grumpy as we look. We quite enjoyed sitting on our chairs on 4th Avenue eating a snack while we watched the man work. What we don't like is Mommy always taking pictures of us.

We left a few hours later than expected, but we finally made our way to Frankfort. Anthony and Ysabella also came up from Virginia, which made the weekend that much more exciting.

And since it's always a tight squeeze to house our big family, we camped in Nonny and Papa's backyard with Nona and Poppy.

We kept ourselves busy with non-city activities, like collecting acorns, roasting marshmallows, and picking flowers.

We even managed to squeeze in a few trips to the playground, and a visit to the house where Mommy grew up.

And of course, we spent some quality time with Nonny, Papa, and Great-Grandpa.

As usual, these weekend trips are exhausting.

But we'll never pass up an opportunity to spend time with family.

A Family Affair

We were thrilled when Mommy suggested we surprise Daddy at work last Thursday to wish him a happy anniversary. We knew he would be too busy to join us for lunch, but we were excited to head to his office, even if it was just for a quick hello.

Zadia picked out some spider mums, which she recognized as the the flowers Mommy carried on her wedding day.

We weren't even sure if Daddy would be there, so we were prepared to leave the flowers and a note. But he was there, and he was very surprised!

And what's a celebration without cupcakes, right?

After work Mommy and Daddy met at East 23rd Street, where they enjoyed The Water Table, a romantic restaurant and amazing views aboard an old boat built that sailed up and down the East River.

Mommy and Daddy have always made it a point to celebrate their anniversaries with the people they love. Back in the day, that meant big, crazy parties. But now they're just as happy to celebrate with each other...

...and with us!

15 Year Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Mommy and Daddy! We woke up and immediately asked to see your wedding album. Which of course, you don't have in digital format, because your wedding was a whole 15 years ago!!! So here are some "pictures of pictures" from that beautiful day back in 1999. The only thing missing is us.

Happy 15th Anniversary Mommy and Daddy. Thanks for falling in love.

Daddy-cation

While Mommy took off to Puerto Rico to celebrate with her girlfriends, Daddy hung back and took care of us. He certainly didn't mind--he would always rather be with his girls than at work, and we were VERY excited to have four Daddy-stay-home days in a row.

We had a fun-filled weekend with a trip to the Bronx Zoo, a birthday party, a visit from Grandma Marcia, and a lemonade stand.

And what was Mommy doing while we were enjoying our little stay-cation? She was doing exactly what she was supposed to be doing--relaxing, enjoying her friends, and working on her tan.

Love and having fun even though we all missed each other,

Mommy-cation

Mommy is leaving in a few hours for a girls-only bachelorette weekend in honor of her dear friend, Ghazalle. So it'll just be me, Zadia, and Daddy for three whole days! You likely won't see a blog post until Mommy gets back next week, so here are a few pictures to hold you over until then!

Lazy Saturday mornings with Daddy.

Target, here we come!

The "Are you serious?" expression.

One of many late-morning stroller naps.

One of many mid-day power naps.

There it is!

Big girl swings.

Walking through "the forest."

Lunch date near Daddy's work.

Burger lunch with Mommy.
