Strollers, Boats, and Bicycles

It's kind of like planes, trains, and automobiles in this family. It often takes three modes of transportation to get to where we're going. This weekend we were off to Governor's Island, a tiny, car-less island off of the coast of Brooklyn.

We hopped in our double stroller Saturday morning and walked two miles to Pier 6 (actually, it was probably more like three miles, since we lost Aiyana's shoe and had to backtrack quite a bit to find it.)

So by the time we got to the the pier, I was ready for a nap, and Aiyana was ready to get out of the stroller and practice her walking.

And she was pretty pleased with herself.

I continued to sleep through the short ferry ride, and Aiyana enjoyed the view.

I woke up as soon as we got to the island though. And just in time to offer Aiyana my sunglasses.

Most people get around the island by bike, so we rented a bicycle built for four.

Enjoyed a picnic lunch.

Drove around the island so we could get a view of the Statue of Liberty.

And I had some fun jumping into Daddy's arms.

Then it was back on the boat and back to Brooklyn.

But not before a quick stop at the playground and little roll in the sand box.
