A Baby Riddle

What do you get when you have six crawling babies and six mommies in a
400 square foot apartment?

 A little bit of chaos...

A whole lot of cuteness...

And at least one fantastic photo where nobody is crying or trying to climb off the couch!

Rooftop Winterland

Brooklyn got snowed on again and this time I was here to enjoy it. Or not.

We don't have a roof deck, but for a brief minute Mommy took me up to the snow-covered tar beach for an authentic winter experience. At first I liked the snow and was all smiles. But then Mommy realized the camera battery was dead, so we ran back downstairs for a new battery and by the time we got back on the roof, I was a little less enticed and a lot less cooperative

Not so sure about this white stuff.

Definitely not looking too excited here.

OK, by this time Mommy was convinced that I'm more of a beach baby.

All of those tears make for an adorable close-up.

My pensive look.

Here's a half-smile just to let you know I'm okay.

One more cute picture, just for good measure.

Speaking of Birthdays

I had my usual Wednesday play group this week, and we celebrated the first of the baby birthdays. Alec is the oldest of the group and just turned ONE!
This gave me another reason to wear my special Christmas dress, although I dressed it down with my rainbow leg warmers.
The moms ate chocolate cake and the babies shared a pumpkin pancake.
I chased the birthday boy around and tried to give him his birthday spanking.
Uh-oh, watch out Daddy, I'm chasing boys already!
I was pretty excited when I finally caught up to him.
It was already a great day, but I got even better when Daddy came home early
and celebrate with us.

A++

I squirmed all over the exam table, but once Mommy distracted me with my favorite song, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, I sat still just long enough to weight in at 17lb. 11oz. I must be a good eater, because I gained 2.5 pounds in two months!

And my height? 27.8 inches. I'm still slightly taller than average, although I always look so much smaller than my friends.

Oh, and the shots kinda hurt, but I'm always very quickly comforted by DogBunny.

The doctor also said that I will soon develop the following motor skills:

Clap: Check!
Wave Bye-Bye: Check!
Pick Up Objects Using the Pincer Grasp: Check!
Combine Syllables: Check!
Stand Alone For a Few Seconds: Check! Check!

Looks like I aced my 9 month exam.

Oh, the Talent

Just a few short video clips of me doing what I do best:
crawling, playing, dancing, playing, walking, playing.

Here's the proof that my commando crawl evolved into a real crawl. And proof that my hair is taking on a curly life of it's own.

Not sure that my dance moves are any different than every other baby's. But it's still cute, right?

You may not want to get behind the wheel with me.

9 Months: Then and Now

Sleeping then.
Sleeping now.
Big eyes then.
Bigger eyes now.

Cute then.
Irresistible now.

Friday Night Out

Mommy donned high heels and lip gloss this past Friday and she and Daddy went out for a few drinks (sans baby) to celebrate Auntie Kelley's 30th birthday. Since Auntie Kelley obviously wasn't available to babysit me, Mommy dropped me off with my friend Oliver and his Mama. According to Ollie's Mama, I was a well-behaved little angel.

Oliver did a great job blogging about our sleepover on his blog, so I decided to save myself some work and just borrow from him. Click on the photo of me below to go directly to Oliver's blog and read his colorful narration of our Friday night sleepover party.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Auntie Kelley. I Love you!

Babies, From A to Z

Oliver was a total stud on Friday and hosted the lady babies
(Alexandra, Elodie, Zoe, and Zadia) at his place.

On Saturday, all I had to do was go one flight up to play with my neighbor, Hana.

And in case you weren't quite sure, this is how I feel about play dates.

Babies Got Back

Most of my baby friends are back from their holiday travels, so our Wednesday play group has resumed. Mommy and I hosted this week. The mommy's ate pumpkin soup and the babies ate toys.

No New Content

Mommy and I have a short lull in our social and class calendars so we're lacking exciting new blog content. And some of you have told me that you look forward to seeing new pictures of me in your inbox each morning. So, no need to get your diapers all up in a bunch! Here are a few shots to hold you over until we get some fresh content.

Lucky Start

As if we didn't travel enough over Christmas, we also traveled for New Years. We went up to Albany to visit Aunt Jenny and Uncle Tom. Aunt Jenny made a delicious meal with lucky foods like lentils, black eyed peas, and bacon. And lucky me, I stayed up late for New Year's--8:30pm!

On Saturday we got a tour of The Capital and saw the new Governor in his chamber. Daddy took a quick phone pic of me commanding attention at the inaugural podium.

Then I got straight to work on a new blog entry.

We got up early on Sunday, and while still in my pajamas, we caught the train back to NYC.

We rushed to our apartment to drop off our baggage, and then went back into Manhattan for a 1pm performance of Wintuk, the colorful Cirque du Soleil circus.
It was my first show and when I wasn't napping, I was bouncing in my seat and clapping along.

If this weekend is any indication of what the year will be like, it's going to be a very lucky, super busy, and completely entertaining one!
Happy New Year everyone and thanks for following me on my baby adventures!
