One Year: Bananas & Chocolate

In honor of my real birthday, Mommy, Daddy, and I had a smaller, more intimate celebration on Sunday. I put on my birthday suit and did my monthly photo with Mr. Sock Monkey.

Mommy and Daddy gave me my present--my very own mini kitchen.
(No, we don't have space for it. We actually have to move just to make room for all my new toys.)

And then it was off to The Chocolate Room for my first ever banana split.
I dug in with my hands at first.

But then I showed off my fine motor skills by using a spoon.
Mommy was relieved to see that I like chocolate and ice cream, just like her!

Presents, balloons, kisses, and ice cream. Birthdays are quite awesome. This pretty much sums up how I felt about the whole day...

Happy Birthday To Me

I'm pretty sure I had the best first birthday party ever!

It all started with the perfect party dress and my closest friends.

But since the party began at my usual nap time, I slept through the first hour of it.

Everyone sang to me when I woke up (which I thoroughly enjoyed) and I loaded up on sugar (which gave me back my birthday mojo.)

Mommy made my favorite food, blueberries, into delicious cupcakes. The cupcake was tasty, but it got even better when Mommy added extra blueberries to the top of mine.

After cupcakes, Daddy made his debut on the ukelele. I think I was the only one dancing, but I don't usually mind being the center of attention.

I didn't think the party could any better, but then I saw tons of presents for me. I
loved my first present so much (see photo below), that I didn't stick
around to open the dozens of other presents I received.

So instead, my good friend Charlotte stepped up and graciously opened
the rest of my presents for me. Isn't she sweet?

My new doll stroller was in high demand by the other babies, so I gave them a chance to play with it while I checked out the other presents I received--a cell phone, a baby doll,
Italian classes, books, clothes, jewelry, and tons of other fun toys.

I was sad to see everyone go when the party ended, but it also meant that I
had the balloons all to myself.

(And she lived happily ever after.)

A Year In The Life

It's true. I'm one. Well, not quite. As I write this, I'm still only 364 days old. But at 4:50am (and by the time you all read this with your morning coffee) I'll officially be one. Here's a look back at my first year on this planet.

Birth Day, April 10, 4:50am (Best day of Mommy's and Daddy's lives.)
One Month (They called me Big Eyes.)
2 Months (A headband for every outfit.)
3 Months (Sweet like lollipops and sprinkles.)
4 Months (Naked in the park.)
5 Months (Sun bathing in the park.)
6 Months (A big smile and an even bigger personality.)
7 Months (This scrunchie nose is now my trademark.)
8 Months (Posing for the camera.)
9 Months (A cold, snowy day makes for a beautiful picture.)
9 Months (Valentine's Day is all about LOVE.)

Child's Pose

They don't call this child's pose for nothin'.

Up For a Challenge

You may already know this about me, but I really like a good challenge. Like, fitting large things through tight spaces, lifting heavy things, and dragging around awkwardly shaped things.

I pulled my rocking chair from my bedroom, through the narrow door, and into the living room. What? I wanted to rock in a different room. What's the big deal?

I'm obsessed with the garbage can. Mommy let me play with it for a few minutes, just to see what I'd do. Of course, I tried to pick it up. (And then got frustrated when it wasn't as easy as I wanted it to be.)

And when my little friend Tristan was over, I dragged his car seat from room to room. Have you felt how heavy those things are? Very.

Little Round Things

Give me a ball (or three) and I'm quite content.

Betcha didn't know I can run now.

Keeping close tabs on this little round thing.

Having a ball makes me very popular on the playground.

Do I have them all?

Oops, I think I dropped one.

With a little help from Mommy, I got all three again.
