Easter Saturday

Easter Bunny came to our house a day early this year! But before his arrival, we had some prepping to do.

Zadia was a master egg hunter this morning, finding about 30 of the 40 eggs. For weeks she's been asking, "Is Easter the next day?" She was so excited, in fact, that we had fake Easter egg hunts almost every day for the past two weeks. I guess practice pays off.

I was also pretty good at finding eggs, but I was even more interested in the contents of the eggs.

It took Ysabella and Anthony a while to understand the object of the game, but once they got the hang of it (and with a little encouragement), they scored a few eggs of their own.

The rest of the day was spent enjoying the beautiful weather, eating yummy food, and enjoying precious time with family.

Pack 'Em In

It's been an exciting few days in the Doron household. There's the four of us here, plus Aunt Kacey, Uncle Cory, Ysabella, Anthony, and Nona. Don't even ask where we all slept. Let's just say it's a good thing we all get along so well.

Well, most of the time anyway. There's the (not so) occasional fight between cousins. What do you expect when there's nine of us packed into a two-bedroom for three days?

Best Sisters

Every Mommy probably hopes that one day her kids will be the best of friends. So far, our chances are pretty good.

Aiyana doesn't let just anybody brush her hair.

Unsolicited hugs.

"Babe, you have pood on your pace."

The two of them won't fit on this chair for much longer.

Setting the Table

I never seem to tire of setting the table for my dolls, my Mommy and Daddy and baby, and my animals. Every table setting is intentional, artistic, and "very, very special." This day was especially special because each of my little friends got their own table and chair and exactly one cookie, one wooden "drink", and a tea cup.

Aiyana started joining in, which usually means we're fighting and screaming over whether the fork should go on the left or the right.

Aiyana's most thoughtful dish yet was the play dough she so lovingly plated and carried over to Mommy. Baby sister, you're such a little sweetheart!

Emerging Skills

I've already mastered stacking five blocks and I can get one leg through a shirt sleeve in an effort to get dressed. Now I'm working on my language skills.

Zadia struggled a little bit with her scooter last summer, but not anymore! After six months of collecting dust in her closet, she hopped on and scooted like she'd been doing it all 2+ years of her life. That means no more bumping into buildings and getting tired after only half a block. (Go Zadia!)

Girlfriends

Mommy has been making a concerted effort to schedule play dates for me, although it's tough when we're juggling three mornings of school, three naps, and a big sister who never wants to leave the apartment after 3pm. But every so often we squeeze in a play date with my friend Harley, who happens to be only one day older than me and also loves playing dress-up.

Many of Zadia's closest friends are boys, and they aren't into games like dress-up, restaurant house, and shopping as much as she is. (Besides, Mommy is trying to teach us how important it is to have close girlfriends.) So Zadia's trying to get more time in with her little lady friends. Josie just moved back from San Francisco and once Zadia warmed up a bit, they got along famously!

Of course, I probably see Ollie's little sister, Vivienne, more than any of my other friends. She's like my baby sister from another mother. It won't be long before our 369-day age difference ain't nuttin' but a number.

Love and girl power,

School Uniform

My pre-school uniform:

1. skirt or tutu
2. headband (or crown, as I call it)
3. a shirt with a princess on it, a purple shirt, or a shirt with a ruffle
4. magic wand

Love and purple tutus,
