Friends

Just a cute pic from a recent play date with our big and little friends. That's Ollie on the right, holding Aiyana's hand. And Zoe in the middle (she's a month older than me) with her baby sister, Kylie (who's six weeks younger than Aiyana.)

Family Day

Last Saturday was family day with Grandma Marcia, Nana, and Papa. Aiyana did a lot of standing.

I did a lot of napping on Daddy's lap.

Aiyana practiced her silly faces.

But also showed off her contagious smiles.

4.5 Months: Monkey See, Monkey Do

Mommy and Daddy can't believe Aiyana is 4.5 months old already. She's gotten heavier since staring solids, and like her big sister, she's small, but very (very!) mighty. She smiles at just about everyone, but she also has the loudest cry most people have ever heard, which probably makes for some very angry neighbors.

Grabbing at everything with her little squirrel fingers.
Smiling at strangers.
Looking a lot like big sis.
Aerial view.

And everything Aiyana does, "I do it, too." So here are my 23.5 month rocking chair pics.

And another example of monkey see, monkey do.

Milestones

There are new developments in the Doron household.

I'm using the potty consistently and successfully. I used to put up a fight at potty time, but now I grab Dog Bunny, tell Mommy "I need privacy," and ask her to close the door behind her when she leaves.

I'm still a ways from being fully potty trained (don't forget I'm not even two yet), but I can often be found prancing around the apartment in my big-girl underwear and Mommy hasn't changed a poopie diaper in almost two weeks!

And of course, I make sure I get my my "special treat" after a successful sitting. Some kids might hope for candy, but I get pretty excited for carrot applesauce in a "squeeze-y pouch."

As if that's not big enough news, Aiyana's tiny little hands are strong enough to hold her tiny little body in a standing position, unassisted.

And while she's been eating purees and cereal like a champ, she just had her first experience with feeding herself table food out of a special food-feeder and she LOVED that too!

Sleepless in Brooklyn

I made the move to my big-girl bed a few weeks ago and nobody has had a good night's sleep since then. So when I had a successful nap on my bed one afternoon, Mommy needed to document it as a friendly reminder that it IS possible for me to sleep peacefully in this big bed.

And Aiyana is still struggling with painfully short naps and restless nighttime sleep. But this past weekend she fell asleep in Nona's arms, made a smooth transition to the floor, and continued to sleep like an angel for almost an hour. That's actually a super long nap for her! Here's the proof that she, too, can sleep peacefully when she wants to:

Pajama Princess

Last Thursday was a rainy day, too wet to go outside. So Mommy, Aiyana, and I had a lazy day indoors. We didn't get dressed until mid-afternoon, and when we did, it was in tulle skirts and tiaras.

Do these magic slippers match my pajama top?
Rear view.
Aiayana, can I turn you into a pumpkin?
No? How about a pretty princess?
Accessorizing is hard work.
