Farewell 578

Tonight is our last night at 578 Atlantic Avenue. I sure will miss our tiny apartment on the busiest corner of Brooklyn. After all,  my perch in this corner window has kept me entertained since I was tiny and bald.

But, tomorrow is the beginning of a new chapter, in a new ( and bigger) apartment , on a new (and quieter) corner, and with a new (and much nicer) view.

Farewell 578 Atlantic Avenue. Thanks for memories!
 We'll miss you.

A Few More

A few more random shots from our family vacation in East Hampton. Then I promise to get some fresh material.

Sliding Doors

The East Hampton rental house had a few things that I don't have at home--like sliding glass doors.

Tzeedee and Roro

Tzeedee and Roro. That's Jadon and Ronen (in Zadia speak), my 7-year-old and 5-year-old cousins, whom I totally adore, and who completely adore me. I've always had a thing for cute boys, but my affection for my cousins is heart warming. Not sure if it's because they smother me with hugs and kisses, because I love boys with a silly sense of humor, or because their energy level and volume rivals mine. But when Tzeedee, Roro, and Zadia are together, it's just one big love fest.

I'll share my bracelets with you.

If you share your ball with me.

Claearly, we're all bored with Sesame Street.

Borrowing my cousins' accessories.

Ronen's not nearly as bored as he looks.

He actually loves when I climb all over him.

Jadon takes a little abuse from me.

But it's so obvious he adores me anyway.

I'm pretty forward with my feelings for them, too.
(The white-balance was off on the above picture, but it was just too perfect not to post!)

Sand's Not So Bad

Most importantly, we're glad all of our family and friends are okay after today's earthquake. Had we been in Brooklyn, we probably would have experienced it. But in East Hampton, we were spared. It was a beautiful, sunny day, perfect for the beach.

For a girl who doesn't like sand between her toes or dirt on her hands, I was actually surprisingly comfortable and content on the sandy beach and in the salty Atlantic.

I'm okay with being naked on the beach, but I never, ever like to take my shoes off.

Playing in the sand was more fun than ever.

Sandy body scrub anyone?

Having my cousins Jadon and Ronen at the beach with me was very encouraging.

Plus, they let me play with their ball.

Their pails.

And their new boogie boards.

And I've been trying to give Mommy a little break on this vacation by demanding extra attention from Daddy. He loves it, of course.

Sure, I'm a city girl at heart, but the beach is definitely growing on me.

That Breeze Feels Good

Oops. I peed in my swim diaper (no, it's not leak-proof) so we took it off so I could air out a bit. Once I got a sense of diaper-free freedom, I wasn't too excited to put my diaper or clothes back on.

Actually, I wasn't too excited about anything today. Maybe because I got up at 4:40am and then refused to take a nap all day? Some people like to sleep on vacation. I guess I'm not one of those people.

But, does this look like the face of a baby who was under slept and cranky all day?

Sweet Peaches

For some reason the peaches taste even better when I'm on vacation.

The bananas aren't so bad, either.
